Community
It took us a while but the care industry is finally getting the recognition it deserves. Domestic Workers are the ones who make all work possible. Nannies are the one who care for children so parents can continue the pursuit of their chosen careers.
Nannies have become an active part of the society and a movement for domestic workers have started across the country.
The care industry is stronger than ever! We have bills being passed around the country and new laws already in place in many states, including Massachusetts.
We continue to grow as we continue to educate and empower our community. Here are just a few projects and initiatives that Thaty have been involved since their conception. You will find more projects below and we would love you to join us and support our industry growth!
Get involved!

NDR - National Domestic Radio
NDR was founded in 2013, by domestic workers, for domestic workers. The show’s initial focus was the Domestic Worker’s Rights movement in Massachusetts and covered the needs of all types of domestic workers. The focus however, has shifted to become more focused on the issues of nannies as other show organizers left. Thaty has, however, remained dedicated in helping nannies through this medium, and continues to be committed in recruiting relevant guest speakers, researching current issues and sharing tips and advice to nannies all around the country.
If you would like to be a guest in the show, donate, or to have us cover your event, please e-mail NDR directly at ndrhost@gmail.com
Matahari Women Workers' Center
Matahari is a women’s social justice organization working to end gender-based violence and exploitation. In 2014, Matahari helped pass the Massachusetts Domestic Workers Bill of Rights as part of the Massachusetts Coalition of Domestic Workers. As we continue to ensure dignity for all women workers and their families, Thaty invites you to get involved in their work to raise standards for nannies and other domestic workers by joining Matahari Monthly Conference Calls or a In person neighborhood meeting.
Please contact Julia Beebe, lead organizer, directly at julia@mataharijustice.org for more information.
